Terms of Service

Quietly Hosted is a UK-based managed hosting, email, and domain service run by Colin Thurston as a sole trader. Business correspondence (only where email is not possible) should be directed to: Office 7, Chard Enterprise Centre, Somerset, TA20 1BB, United Kingdom.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Quietly Hosted’s managed website hosting, domain registration, email hosting, and related support services (“Services”). These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Daily backups are taken, and SSL certificates are provided via Cloudflare.
2. Service limitations
- While we strive for continuous service, uptime is not guaranteed. We are not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control, including (but not limited to) third-party service outages, power failures or natural disasters.
- We accept no liability for data loss or service interruption. Clients are responsible for keeping their own up-to-date backups of all content, data, and settings. Any backups we provide are not guaranteed and should not replace your own backup processes.
- Hosting plans are solely for website content storage and delivery. Using server space for file storage, backups, or archives is prohibited. Quietly Hosted may monitor disk usage and impose limits, request reductions, or suspend accounts exceeding reasonable plan levels or impacting server performance. Excessive use may incur extra charges or result in termination.
- Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of their login details and ensuring any activity under their account complies with these Terms.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services immediately for misuse, abuse, or if payments are overdue.
3. Support
- Support is provided via email.
- We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days.
- Support outside of email (phone, chat) is not provided.
4. Payment terms
- Services are invoiced yearly.
- Payment is due on or around the Direct Debit date managed by GoCardless.
- If payment fails, we will contact you to resolve the issue.
- If payment remains unpaid for 7 days after contact, your service may be suspended until payment is received.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- You may cancel your services at any time by notifying us.
- All payments are final — no partial or pro-rata refunds are available after payment is made.
- Domain registrations are also non-refundable once processed.
6. Content and usage rules

- Clients must comply with all applicable UK laws regarding content.
- Reselling of services, hosting adult content, or hosting high-traffic sites is not permitted.
7. Account ownership and data
- You own the content and data you publish via our services.
- Domains are registered initially in Colin Thurston’s name for your privacy but can be transferred to you at any time upon request.
- If you terminate services, we will provide a full cPanel backup free of charge to help you migrate your data. This backup will be available for 28 days from the date of termination.
8. Changes to these Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time.
- Any material changes will be communicated to you via the email address on file.
9. Liability limitations
- Quietly Hosted is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Services.
- Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.
